I focus my practice on providing individual psychotherapy and psychoanalysis.

I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues: depression and anxiety; workplace difficulties, relationship problems, support for parenting. I tailor my approach to meet clients' individual needs and circumstances and focus on what clients want to change or resolve.
I am psychoanalyst, which means I have extensive, post-graduate classroom and hands-on training to understand people at their deepest levels. The approach I use emphasizes the influence of factors that are outside a person's daily awareness, like unconscious thoughts or early experiences, as well as the relationship between therapist and client. Using empathy and precise understanding, I help clients identify the patterns and internal processes that have gotten in their way. Then, together we work to understand their origins and develop new or expanded ways of responding.
My particular focus and interest is in working with lawyers and other professionals in highly demanding and stressful careers who may have been reluctant to consider psychotherapy despite the intense strain that workplace and self-imposed demands place on career performance, relationships and life-satisfaction. With my particular combination of skills and experience, I am uniquely able to serve the needs of this community which is at notably higher risk for depression and anxiety than the general population.


I provide consulting services to individuals and organizations confronting mental health, stress-induced or personality challenges in the workplace, such as

  • High-performing, but difficult employees
  • Intractable work group conflict or tension
  • Problematic supervisory relationships

These services include assessment of the problem, recommendations and focused interventions for individuals, pairs of employees, work groups or staff departments.
